We started Deeps in the dark period after graduation before our first “adult” jobs in 2011. Originally it served as simply a creative outlet to research and write, but quickly turned into a passion of both of ours. Our goal is to invoke deep thought and intelligent conversation supported by the facts. While the majority of what we write about is science or technology-based, Deeps at its core seeks to touch any aspect of life worth discussing. Nothing is off-limits. Thanks for diving in with us!

Brett graduated from the University of Oregon in 2011 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry and Business and currently works as a medical device rep for Stryker. Excited by the opportunity and potential of scientific discovery and enthralled by the philosophy of science. When he is not saving people’s lives in surgery, he is usually writing, playing guitar, surfing or cruising the streets of Santa Monica.

Ryan graduated from Pomona College in 2011 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Spanish and currently works as a marketing director for InMotion Hosting. His passion lies in the limitless trajectory of technology and it’s potential to positively impact the human race. When he isn’t fighting to keep the internet running, he is usually listening to live music, watching sports, learning new online tricks or gaming.
