Yes, Science has poked the bear that is big religion with claims that the universe does not require a creator and that mankind is nothing more than a product of luck and random chance.  Perhaps these claims have in turn caused Christianity to become defensive and closed off.

However, what Science had really done was give Christians a gift.  And that gift is a clearer understanding of the creation that God has put in front of us.

Should discovering more about God’s creation scare Christians?  No!  I would ask those Christians who hide from Science where their faith has gone.  Do they believe that God has created a world to trick them?  If there is a God then he should not only be revealed through his word but also his works.
